What is Melanoma?
Melanoma is a form of cancer that develops in the skin’s pigment cells.
Melanoma can occur anywhere on the skin, even in areas that receive little or no sun exposure like the soles of your feet.
It can be difficult to treat and is best detected early.
Over exposure to ultra violet (UV) light causes 95% of Melanoma, so the best way to prevent Melanoma is to protect your skin from the sun.
Early detection of Melanoma is key. If caught early 90% of Melanomas can be cured with surgery. Get to know your skin and have a professional skin check regularly.
